Quasi Trio
The repertoire of Quasi Trio, founded in 2014 in Prague, ranges from the classical to contemporary composers, including Czech ones. All members – David Šimeček (clarinet), Judita Škodová (cello), Kateřina Ochmanová (piano) – have had experience abroad and success in international competitions and master classes. The ensemble completed a master’s degree in chamber music at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts, a two-year internship at the CRR in Paris and a postgraduate programme at the MDW University in Vienna. It is a two-time winner of the Best Chamber Ensemble Award, given by the International Summer Academy masterclasses in Austria. Quasi Trio’s achievements also include awards for the performance of Bohuslav Martinů’s compositions, won in both solo and chamber music. The ensemble has performed, for example, on the Austrian ORF radio station, on the airwaves of Radio West in the Netherlands, in the refectory of the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence and in the unique Prague architectural monument Villa Winternitz. In addition to collaborating with the Prague Philharmonia, the Czech Philharmonic, the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice, etc., the members of the Quasi Trio also perform as soloists. All of them work in well-known institutions – David Šimeček has a permanent engagement in the orchestra of the National Theatre, Judita Škodová is a member of the Prague Philharmonia and Kateřina Ochmanová is engaged in teaching and piano cooperation at the Pardubice Conservatory.
