Fama Q
The Fama Q String Quartet was formed in 2005 in Prague by members of leading Czech orchestras who share a passion for chamber music. It focuses mainly on music by Czech and international composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, and premieres many works. Fama Q repeatedly performs at domestic and international festivals, such as Prague Spring, Contempuls, Janáček May, Music Olomouc, Forfest Kroměříž, Eternal Hope Prague, Smetana Days Pilsen, Les Musicales de Quiberon in France, Festival de Música de la Mancha in Spain, Cluj Modern in Romania and Israel Festival Jerusalem. The quartet has also performed in Italy, Japan, Germany, Turkey and the USA. It has also performed in Terezín and in Prague halls as part of the international project Performing the Jewish Archive. Fama Q collaborates with a number of artists and ensembles, and conducts contemporary music performance seminars at schools and universities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Turkey. He is also active in the field of recording new music.
