Organ Soirée: Katharina Zauner

Austria's rising star organist Katharina Zauner will play the royal instrument in Kaplice.

The 34th organ concert series will conclude with an evening performance in Kaplice. The local Church of Sts. Peter and Paul will make its premiere as a festival concert stage. The town on the Czech-Austrian border is rightly proud of its organ school tradition. The Kaplice instrument will be taken up by 24-year-old organist Katharina Zauner. Although very young, she has had many successes. She gained her first musical experience at the age of 8, took her first organ lessons two years later, then studied at the Academy for Gifted Students at the Anton Bruckner Private College, as well as at the Linz Music College and is also a recipient of the Dr. Josef Ratzenböck Scholarship. Katharina Zauner is currently studying organ with Johannes Ebenbauer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She has also held masterclasses with Bin Bryndorf, Hannfried Lucke, Silva Manfrè and Matthias Maierhofer.   The concert will be part of the unique Kaplice Music Day, during which it will be possible to attend three concerts:
