The Český Krumlov synagogue will come alive with a thrilling performance of young Czech brass players with the world premiere of a composition by Jiří Trtík.

The PBtet (Prague Brass Quintet) is a new generation of Czech brass players. PBtet

The PBtet (Prague Brass Quintet) began to form at the end of 2016 from students of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under the artistic direction of Jiří Novotný. The musicians consider their greatest success to be winning the Jeju International Brass & Percussion Competition 2019. PBtet also won awards at the Bucharest International Music Competition 2021 and the International Music Competition OPUS 2022. The ensemble is composed of Walter Hofbauer and Karel Hons on trumpets, Daniela Roubíčková on French horn, Barbora Kolafová on trombone and Jakub Chmelař on tuba. Currently, all players are permanent members of major Czech orchestras, namely the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Philharmonia, the Orchestra of the National Theatre Opera in Prague and the Orchestra of the State Opera. The ensemble regularly performs at festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad. At the beginning of 2021, it released its debut album entitled JOY. It is true that the women of the ensemble, although fragile and small in stature, are leaders in playing their instruments.
