Trio Incendio
Violinist Filip Zaykov and cellist Vilém Petras and pianist Karolina Františová have a long-standing friendship. The top musicians played together for the first time in 2016 as members of the Academy of Chamber Music and decided to continue in this line-up. The trio has won numerous competitions, including the Joseph Haydn Competition in Vienna, the Joseph Joachim Competition in Weimar, the Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award in Lugano, the Coop Music Awards in Cremona, the Hans Gál Competition in Mainz, etc. It has collaborated with members of Quatuor Ébène, Nicolas Altstaedt, Amihai Grosz, Mihaela Martin, Gabor Takács-Nagy and other prominent artists and professors. The member ensemble of the European Academy of Chamber Music regularly participates in the International Summer Academy in Reichenau, organized by the University of Music in Vienna. Trio Incendio has won the Wiener Klassik Prize, the Bohuslav Martinů Prize and the AHUV Prize for the best interpretation of Czech contemporary music. The young musicians are also winners of the Academy’s Chamber Music Award for the best ensemble and the Audience Award. Trio Incendio performs in the Czech Republic and abroad. It has given concerts at the most important European venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Wigmore Hall or Prague’s Rudolfinum, and has been invited to festivals of renowned names.
Filip Zaykov
He started playing the violin at the age of 5, then studied it in Prague and Dresden. Filip Zykov, who also played the piano for many years, is now studying at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar. He is a laureate of international competitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, such as the Jaroslav Kocian International Violin Competition, Concertina Praga, Concours Bravo! the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition and the Premio Clivis. Filip Zaykov made his debut as a soloist at the age of 10 with the Prague Philharmonia and has also appeared several times with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra in Prague Rudolfinum. He has also performed with the North Bohemian Philharmonic Teplice and the Prague Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. Filip Zaykov has also participated in several summer music academies and masterclasses, where he has worked with Christian Tetzlaff, Pierre Amoyal, Rodney Friend, Endre Granat and György Pauk. He has been a scholarship holder at the Orchestral Academy of the Czech Philharmonic, the Chamber Music Academy and is now a member of Villa Musica and the Malko Academy for Young Conductors.
Vilém Petras
A graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Vilém Petras also studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy” in Leipzig and at the mdw – Universität der Künste in Vienna. He has won several prizes in national and international competitions, such as Talents for Europe, Antonio Janigro Cello Competition, the Competition of Conservatories and Music Schools of the Czech Republic and the Jan Vychytil Cello Competition. As a soloist, Vilém Petras has performed with several orchestras, including the Prague Philharmonia, the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prague FOK Orchestra and the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he premiered the Cello Concerto by composer Daniel Chudovsky. He has participated in masterclasses with Alisa Weilerstein, Jens-Peter Maintz, Danjulo Ishizaka, Emil Rovner, Silvia Sondeckiene and Mark Jerie. He was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and the orchestral academies of the Czech Philharmonic and the Prague Philharmonia. Currently Vilém Petras is concertmaster of the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc.
Karolína Františová
Karolína Františová, a graduate of the Prague Conservatory, went on to study at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where she is currently pursuing her doctoral studies. She also graduated from the Accademia pianistica Internazionale in Imola and the Universität der Kante Berlin. Carolina Frantic participated in master classes with Vladimir Ashkenazy, Ch. Elton, N. Fisher, I. Fountain, L. McCawley, A. Koyoumdjian, B. Berman, I. Klansky, M. Gambarian and others. She is a laureate of national and international competitions, namely Haydn International Piano Competition in Vienna, Jenö Takács Piano Competition, Smetana International Competition in Pilsen, Scriabin International Competition in Paris, Piano Talents in Milan and others. Karolína Františová has performed with the Prague Philharmonia and the mdw – Universität der Künste Orchestra in Vienna. She is also a regular soloist of the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra.
